Everyone seems to be souped up in insanity like its going out of style. I mean, how is this even psychologically stable? Why is she wailing to the backdrop in every store? If you shut off the synth-pop funky beats, you'll realize its just garbage- radioactive garbage that will cause your limbs to fall from your conjunctive sockets. What takes four chapters of build up and coffee breaks to stay concentrated and interested, and then blows your  mind? Yes, Lord of the Flies. I had to read the book last week for a school project. After nearly quitting and watching the movie a couple times, I'm glad I finally waited it out. The story is incredibly. William Golding isn't necessarily Shakesperean, or your typical adjective-savvy imagery writer, but the ideas presented are astounding, and incredibly complex. The story opens up as a group of boys are stranded on an island after their airplane is bombed down. The protagonist, Ralph, a handsome boy of 12, finds a conch he blows into and it draws all the boys on the island together. The conch becomes a symbol of order and stability, of civilized society. But before long, the different characteristics and innate inclinations of the boys start to divide the crowd and change the scene from playful and happy to vile, egotistical and murderous. Hello everyone! I know I haven't been the most constant of bloggers lately, but life has been getting in the way of me even being able to type a full sentence without interruptions. Here goes an idea thats been lingering my walnut today, and I feel strongly about.  In class today, teacher asked us all, individually, if we felt sticking to our standards was hard sometimes. Surprisingly, most of them said no. Of course I said yes. How can it not be?  Going further, I truly believe with every grain in my body, that if something is easy, its not right. And if it's right, its not easy. I'm not talking about taking an exam or finding the right relationship. I'm talking about decisions. The path of least resistance is the one easiest to trot, but not necessarily the best, in the long run. Its devastating to watch the news. Image after shocking image of destruction just keeps pouring in. Boats and houses, cars and buildings alike swish around in a muddy wave pool of death. The death toll, which started at around 300, is now feared to be topping 10,000. Thousands are homeless, without food, water, electricity, and in many cases, alone. We're talking about the world's most prepared country, the leader in Technology- with the world's most elaborate catastrophe plan, and yet they are hopeless amidst so much chaos. My prayers are with them. Travel halfway around the world to the United States. Such destruction parallel to Japan's is imminent. Haiti, Chile, and China had their turn last year. It's only a matter of time before a quake with such intense power rocks our world, literally. And yet.. everyone seems to be completely indifferent- in fact, they could not bear to be any more apathetic.  Instead, they are busy tracking Charlie Sheen and his vile ...

I wake up this morning to turn on the weather channel and anticipate my local on the 8s. What I wasn't anticipating was to hear that the tsunami that has damaged and ravaged Japan was on its way to the States. Apparently, in less than an hour, the tsunami/earthquake will have hit the coasts of Washington State, Oregon and Northern California. Maybe I'm just not there in the flesh, but it seems like everyone is taking this really calm. Not even the big wig news channels are broadcasting it as much as TWC is. Is it not going to be intense? I don't know. But I do know that it seems awful short notice to start getting ready for mass destruction. So I hope everyone on the other coast of the States will take care of themselves and take necessary precautions and not risk their life anymore than they have to. I hope the death toll in Japan doesn't keep rising (Its at 300 right now) and I hope Hawaii isn't completely ruined before I get a chance to go there personally. ...

Now it's getting serious. Counting down to the five most personally coveted, hysterical, tears coming out of my eyes movies. After a great deal of consideration and back and forth-ism with my brother, here goes MY top 5. But let's start off with three honorable mention s, that you should add to your classic viewing list. 3. Young Frankenstein . Downside, it's black and white. Upside, everything else. Another genius production of Mel Brooks, whom is also responsible for.. 2. Blazing Saddles . The movie takes place in Wild West America, and has great quotable lines. Must watch. 1. Almost Heroes . Perhaps the best Chris Farley movie the world was ever blessed with, and combined with the witty sarcasm of Mathew Perry as the misfits that "beat" Lewis and Clark. Funny from Scene 1 to Credits. I love to lose consciousness from laughter when I watch a movies. I want to have great lines I can use and re-use. So here I am counting down my favorite 10 comedy movies, and recommend you add them to your instant queue. Today I'll count from 10-6 and tomorrow from 5-1. :) 10) The Ringer > "Hey buddy, whatcha doing?" "Walking the Dog!"  Fixing the special olympics to make some money calls for hilarity of the laugh out loudest. Ninfamous Rating: 2.5 out of 5 9) Spaceballs > A classic that I will be able to watch and always laugh. A spoof of Star Wars done brilliantly with great characters like Pizza Da Hut and the Mog- half man, half dog! I'm my own best friend.
