Fave 10 Funny Flicks 5-1
Now it's getting serious. Counting down to the five most personally coveted, hysterical, tears coming out of my eyes movies.
After a great deal of consideration and back and forth-ism with my brother, here goes MY top 5. But let's start off with three honorable mentions, that you should add to your classic viewing list.
3. Young Frankenstein. Downside, it's black and white. Upside, everything else. Another genius production of Mel Brooks, whom is also responsible for..
2. Blazing Saddles. The movie takes place in Wild West America, and has great quotable lines. Must watch.
1. Almost Heroes. Perhaps the best Chris Farley movie the world was ever blessed with, and combined with the witty sarcasm of Mathew Perry as the misfits that "beat" Lewis and Clark. Funny from Scene 1 to Credits.
Okay, now back to the countdown!!
5. One Word: Benchwarmers! Three losers in a small town take on all the little leagues in the area to redeem the nerds morale and win a brand new baseball field with all the works. Super Hysterical acting by David Spade, Jon Heder and Rob Schneider.
4. Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy! "Hurry up, you're going to be late." "Late?" "Yes, as in.. what's your name?" "Arthur." "As in the Late Arthur.." Definitely the best witty and random combination I've seen so far. As the end of the world impends, Arthur and his friend leave earth and hitchhike through the galaxy, trying to stay alive. Laughter until aching stomach is something to expect.
3. Land of the Lost - Will Ferrell, Anna Friel and Danny McBride are genius in this film. (And Chaka played by Jorma Taccone) From the opening of the movie, I knew I was in love. It begins with Matt Lauer interviewing Dr. Rick Marshall (Ferrell) in a very serious, realistic setting. The arrogant Dr. Marshall believes the tachyon power he has discovered is the very future of humanity. He just needs several million more tax payers dollars. Its silly, but good enough to keep you intrigued with the plot. You haven't lived until you have watched Land of the Lost.
2. Blades of Glory- This flick showcasts the best of the best in humour, and does it right! Will Ferrell is just beyond comical in this movie also starring Jon Heder. Two former skating rivals have to compete together to get their lives and fame back on track. So many quotable lines, so many moments of tears of laughter! Will Arnett and Amy Poehler play the protagonists. You can't not watch it. "The night is dark for me.. " "The night is dark for everyone!" "Not for Alaskans and people with night vision goggles!"
Here We Go.. Number One.. The FUNNIEST, LAUGH OUT LOUDEST, HYSTERICAL, MOST-QUOTABLE..
1. HOT ROD!!!!- Four absolute losers stuck in the 80s and all unemployed "work" together as "stunt crew team". Their big moment comes when Rod, (Andy Samberg) has to save his step father (Ian McShane) by recruting 50,000 for a heart surgery. Random, stupid funny, slapstick, all around best movie ever to sit back and bust a gut to. So what are you waiting for? Netflix is waiting!
